Found that 1990 Deep V-17 weight is 675 rated @40hp, 1991 & 1992 is 871 rated @60hp but 1993 is 1586 rated @ 40hp.
Recently saw a 1993 Deep V-17 in person and plate said rated @90hp max and has 60hp Johnson on it.
Info from J.D. Power prices, values, specs.
What gives? Must be incorrect information?
Anyone know that weight of a 1993 Deep V-17? Boat has everything, storage port & starboard, live well, front storage.

I don't know the weight of that boat. The 40HP max rating on the 1990 Deep V17 seems kind of low to me, but that doesn't mean you should ignore the capacity plate. Not much help I'm afraid.

On iBoats I found it, 1993 V-17 Tracker 871lbs, 77" beam and 3 motor options from Tracker 40,60 or 90hp. 90 is max.
What a great site.

I have an 84 Tournament V17 that is rated for 90hp maximum.

Perhaps they have the ratings mixed up between the Deep-V and Mod-V models, the model names changed quite a bit throughout the years. The 17' Deep-Vs are all rated for 90hp throughout the years as far as I'm aware.

I'd say their weight is about right at 800lbs, I have never had mine across a scale.

I agree with iBoats, must be around 800lbs.
I guess a 60hp should do fine. Has a Dol-Fin too. I always liked the 3 cylinder Johnsons.
I had a Triton 2000 17' aluminum with a Merc 60 and did fine.

I've had several different motors on mine, the original 60hp Merc, a Suzuki 75hp 2 stroke, a 90hp Fourstroke, and now a 50hp Evinrude. The Evinrude is probably my favorite in terms of power to weight, the 75hp+ motors get very heavy. 50-60hp is perfect IMO.
