    I'd think that a loop hanging below the bottom step would be all that's necessary to use a shorter ladder - like the Garelick two step version of the one I bought. Then the ladder wouldn't stick out above the transom. :oops: Ah well, the money's spent, and I'm pretty sure this one will pass...
