    Electrical issue question

I have a FIRM policy about boats, unless I wired it I strip ALL wires out and rewire EVERYTHING myself. Always home run to my fuse panel, I never use in line fuses................ but that's just me...... Life is too short to chase electrical gremlins that someone else left behind..... And...

Coleman Crawdad.. with swamp runner mud motor.....

When I buy a boat I start a "file" and add all of the papers related to that craft. Titles, receipts, etc. etc. When I sell that boat it goes to the new owner, after that there's no telling what happens......

    Pontoon yacht.

A lot of "houseboats" are actually built on a barge hull for the size and stability. At least that's what I have seen on most lakes in the mid west areas.

3" diameter Ram mount to be drilled down in the front deck of my VT18 Crestliner Question

Think about using RAM mounts. They have endless possible combinations and are much sturdier than they look. I used one on the Little Boat (it was the most logical choice) and am surprised by it. Glad I tried it...... DUH...... never mind.....

Boat ramp traffic way down and fewer boats on the water?

I'm sure ya;ll know that there are different levels of inflation/flotation?? One is in the 20's and uses the small cartridge and the other is in the 30's and uses the large canister. Make sure you have the larger type and you should be okay.....

Is the motor height going to be an issue?

Do you realize that the jack plate also sets the motor back?? Almost un avoidable.... Check Tiny Boat Nation for a "Transom Plate".... https://tbnation.net/products/transom-mounting-bracket If you order make CERTAIN of your existing transom thickness.....

Is the motor height going to be an issue?

Ya'll going about this the HARD way. TH Marine makes what they call a "Mini Jacker" that bolts to the transom and is fully adjustable that allows the use of a long shaft on a short transom. I used it to mount a long shaft Merc (20") to the short (16") transom of my 1448 Lowe. Sold the boat and...

    Aluminum Console?

Everything in your boat that is electrical should be "home run". That is, an individual ground and an individual positive. I would NOT recommend using the hull as a ground like in a vehicle. Use a QUALITY fuse block (Blue Seas) and it will have both connections.
