Sounds like a fun hobby/business you have there putting new life back in these old motors. I use a 1987 Mercury 35hp on my 16 ft Alumacraft and a 1962 5 1/2 hp Johnson on my 12 footer. They both work fine........62 model consumes more 2 stroke oil as it has a 24 to 1 ratio but that said they...
What can I say except a beautiful job! New life for an old boat like this 1950 model E I just got back into the water after languishing in the weeds............
Well the restoration of this "barn find" (actually wasn't discovered in a barn) 1950 model year Alumacraft model E 12' footer I discovered languishing away in Wisconsin last June is now complete. First fishing trip in the new old boat is behind us and all went really well. For power I put a 1962...
Just bought a beautiful 2000 year model Mercury 9.9 hp on eBay last month from a Marine dealer in New York state that is in perfect shape cosmetically and mechanically for $900.00. Yes they are around for sale and many remain in fine usable condition.

We are in 2 places..........home is Broward county from which we fish the Everglades regions and also Lake Okeechobee as we have a weekend retreat in Glades County where we fish the Lake Okeechobee region. Yes............be fun to get together with these old Alumacrafts and catch a few fish!!
