Winter Battery Storage

Thanks for the replies. I am going to make the trip up there to retrieve the batteries and bring them home into a heated garage.

Winter Battery Storage

The boat is stored in the south west part of Michigan. The batteries are fairly new (2-3 years old) but could probably use a charge.

Winter Battery Storage

I usually bring my batteries indoors for the winter. However, I left them (forgot them) in the boat, disconnected, and the boat is in a non-heated garage for the winter.

Any issues leaving them as is or best to head back up to retrieve before the real cold weather hits?

Power pole, micro anchor. Heavier application?

I have the micro anchor on a 14ft V bottom and have tied a 16ft V bottom to my boat and we both held without issue in a windy day. For a little larger/heavier boat like yours, the only thing different I would do is to not run the pole down while still coasting after the motor has stopped. They show ...

Color coding your rod/reel combos??

I am a fan of having enough rod/reel setups that I do not need to change lures often. However, all of my rod/reel setups always have a lure like a frog, spinnerbait, shallow diving crank bait, deep diver crank bait, senko wacky rig, etc..... This allows me to be able to change colors or lures of the...

Fishfinder /gps/navi for under 600$

I recently went with the Dragonfly Pro 7 with the Ram Ball mount. Love the simplicity of use and all the options. Rebates, Rebates, Rebates..... Can not stress that enough as a lot of manufactures are offering mail in rebates. Four weeks later I received a $150 American Express card which lowered th...

Question for you Night Fishing guys

It is that initial splash that makes them hit the lure. Where you using an inline spinner or a hairpin? I like the inline as they have the treble compared to a single hook on the hairpin. Better hook on the treble hook obviously.

Power or power pole micro?

This season I rewired my boat and decided to add the micro pole setup. I did not want to drill holes in the transom to mount it so I spent the extra $50 for the removable mounting bracket. The bad: It cost $650 for the setup. Also, the current boat cover does not have enough material to cover the mi...

The price seems about right from what I have been looking at for sale on Craigslist. If he is asking $2K then I would offer $1500 and try to settle on $1700.

I would for sure ask him to start up the motor with water going into it at a minimum.

passenger seat position

I like the spot that it is in as it gives the person two options to fish. Turn to the right and have some leg room to stretch the legs or turn left and put your feet up on the storage box.

Fish Finder Help / Opinion

The Dragonfly 7 Pro was just what was needed to get by with one device. The wireless feature works great with my Samsung phone when running the motor and trolling or scouting around.

Very easy to use and setup.

Wiring Diagram for my build

The breaker/fuse needs to be between the positive lead on your battery and the main power lead going into your switch.

Just finished a similar project with mine and the best advice I can give is to go with the better connectors and wire so you are going it right the first time.

what kind of wood on a jon boat project?

-richg99- I did say treated :( Learned it after the fact that aluminum and treated wood are a bad mix. However, the wood is sitting on top of the wood wrapped in vinyl floor and is only touching the aluminum seats. I did however, put 3 coats of exterior paint on the wood and painted the seats prior ...
