downside of a long shaft?

There are so many things I could say in response to this thread, but am biting my tongue. Too much time stuck inside I guess. :LOL2:

Compass necessity?

One of the lakes I fish commonly during the summer will fog over something bad. My boat's 15' length and there are times when I can't see the bow (no, really). Navigating can be tough. I mean I "think" I know the lake but there have been times when I've been running along (at idle or just above) an...

Unwanted Tradition

In Thailand where i live fish skin is a very popular snack :) they have them at restaurant tables as a starter snack sometimes :) Hi FishinKris. Believe it or not, Mrs Ldubs bought several bags of these while we were in Singapore. There is a brand she can get here but it is super expensive. BTW, af...

Oh man, as long as they are crispy, I might give them a try! I didn't know they even made those.

Selling boat question

Aw shoot Hammer sorry to hear about the stoke. I can't really give you any good tips about selling a boat other than around here it seems just about everyone uses Craigslist. I've not sold a boat there, but I sold some major woodworking tools that I had to get rid of before we moved to the current h...

Selling boat question

Assuming there isn't something going on with the ramp, it just shouldn't be that much of an issue putting the boat on the trailer. It sounds like you should add side bunks or guide ons. Also make sure the trailer bunks are adjusted to fit the boat properly. And, what CedarRiver says - don't back the...

Compass necessity?

I don't have a traditional magnetic compass. I do have GPS on my fishfinder with Navionics maps that cover any area that I will ever find myself. I also have a compass app on my iPhone.

Girl friends daughter is a nurse

I'm glad she was OK, and God bless the nurses. And Doc's too. They are right there where the rubber meets the road. What would we do without them!

Stay at home order

One shopper was wearing a full face respirator with dual cartridges. Mrs Ldubs and I went to the senior's only hour at SAM's Club the other day. There were not a lot of people wearing them, but every guy I saw with a face mask had it pulled down on his chin so nose & mouth weren't even covered. Eve...

Corona Virus

This has been around for a while, but I thought I would share the link in case anyone was interested in bookmarking it. It provides up to date info on the CV status. You can drill down to country/state/county level data. This is via John Hopkins and uses bonafide data from CDC. So it is about as rel...

Stay at home order

We are on our third week staying at home. The house couldn't be cleaner. Yard looks pretty good. We are getting pretty good at gin rummy. Today, I received a supply of stuff via Amazon that will allow me to do some work on the boat.

Everyone hang in there.

I am seeing the first responders, and medical falling victim to this. When, or if we run short on these people it will be a disaster.
My sister-in-law was a managing nurse before she retired about 5 years ago. The hospital asked if should would come back. I'll bet this is happening a lot.
