How many boats have oarlock mounts?

I bought a new 16x48 that has a jet and a 24v trolling motor. I also had oar locks put on and I bought some relatively expensive oars. I take the boat out on rivers mostly and while I don't row very often, I have used the oars more often to push me off the odd rock that I get stuck on. I learned to ...

Garmin

I switched from Lowrance to Garmin a few years ago. Honestly, there really isn't much of a difference in the sonar between Garmin, Lowrance or Humminbird. I switched because Garmin included high definition maps without having to buy expensive map chips. I also liked the fact that even lower end unit...

What size fuel line?

Why don’t you remove the damaged/ worn hose and take it to and auto parts store and let them match it up.

New Jet Motor advice for 16’ Xpress

Running a jet on a boat not designed for it, means you will probably need to use a jack plate to get the exact height the motor will need. I put a 50/35 Tohatsu on mine, converted the tiller to a console. The motor is a two stroke which I chose because of how much less it weighs than the 4 stroke. ...

Is this a good price?

When you are buying from a dealer, they have to make money on the sale to stay in business so they will probably charge more for the same boat than a private sale. One of the things you get from buying from a dealer should be some kind of warranty so if the boat has something wrong they may repair i...

Minn Kota Ulterra or Terrova? Something else?

I was leaning towards the Ulterra but I have decided on the Garmin Force. I’m going with the 93sv EchoMAP UHD. Let us know how you like the new Minn Kota. I desperately wanted to go with Garmin electronics but Garmin has completely dropped the ball for us that don't own bass boats. I have been wait...

Thru hull fitting on side of boat??

I’d use plastic. Even though there is a greater chance of it cracking than a stainless one would, a stainless fitting would react with the aluminum hull and have a greater chance of leaking where it corrodes the aluminum.

Re: Electric Beaver (airplane, that is)

I've flown many times in a de Havilland Beaver on many Canadian fly-in trips. Considering the last new one was built over 50 years ago, it's remarkable how many are still flying. The new Tesla pickup will only be able to travel about 100 miles while hauling a load, I wonder, with current battery tec...

Re: decking/hatch latches

The hatches on my fiberglass Ranger are pretty thick. They are this style. Available at Amazon, it’s a Perko 0932DP1 works on decking up to 1 1/8 inches thick.

Under water cameras

I had an Aqua-Vu camera several years ago. Although they’ve probably gotten better over the years, there are a few things I found out about using one that convinced me to sell mine. 1. Unless the camera is very close to the bottom, there isn’t much of anything to see. From the surface to within a co...

I tried to give blood

I tried to give blood today. NEVER AGAIN!

Too many stupid questions!

Whose blood is it?

Where did you get it from?

Why is it in a bucket?
