Deck Material Aluminum vs Wood

I've found that if I try to post with my iPhone it will do that. I now download pictures from my phone to the laptop, go into the picture file on the laptop and orient them correctly then post on here from the laptop. May not be the best solution but it works for me.

Torn down trailer, rebuild correctly

When I built my new galvanized trailer in February I used galvanized sign posts that my dad had gotten years ago. I bought 2 1/2" X 5/16" galvanized bolts and nuts, drilled the posts and made a bottom clamp from my cutoff post pieces. Took my measurements bolted the on. For the bunk boards they're j...

Poly Marine Livewell Tank Mod

Angler, I didn't shorten a tank but I removed a bench seat from my boat, flipped it upside down and made a 21 gallon livewell out of it. I'll try to post a link to my build so you can see how I did it. It wasn't hard and it still holds water today.

Deck paint?

I used this coating in my build, they're not a site sponsor as far as I know but it is close to me in Missouri and is a great product. I think it's priced at about $70 per gallon with a 3 gallon minimum. With one gallon I single coated by entire boat, 1648, and second coated the bow and stern decks....

Here's my boat on the new trailer. The pic was more to show the trailer. I still need to fab a few more pieces of aluminum in but no rush.

1976 Duracraft

The boat looks good. I just finished building a brand new galvanized trailer for mine, I thought I was ready to go until my suburban refused to start this morning. Pulled it to a local garage this afternoon, hopefully he'll get it figured out. I'll tell you, just about the time you think you're read...

1976 Duracraft

Matt24, I'm the other 1720 Duracraft. I haven't posted much in a while but I really like mine, it gets me wherever I want to go. I upgraded from a 20hp Mercury to a 50hp Mercury jet. I'm still not done with my project but I'm on the water so there's a lot less urgency. I also couldn't help notice yo...

Can anyone identify this boat?

I would say it's about 1980. I say that because of the square ribs in the boat. I also noticed there are more ribs than normal and there doesn't seem to be a factory livewell, must have been a custom made boat for commercial use or conservation. It's a great hull zseverns, I love my Duracraft, mine ...

Buckethead's 1974 Duracraft 1720

I can't speak for every build on every boat but my boat does not flex with the bench removed. I stripped my hull and rebuilt the front deck in and the rear back in the way I wanted them. Along my gunwales I used 1" x 2" aluminum from the front deck to the rear, attached it through the top row of ben...
