Flooring

Talk about anything that floats your boat (no pun intended). This is general talk about anything not related to boating/fishing.

I’m going to redo the inside of my boat. I’m going to use 2 x4s as. Stringers lay my plywood on. If I totally paint the tops, bottoms and ends will that keep them from rotting out or would a normal waterproof stuff

Well, truth is, if you could keep water off & away from it & keep it dry, in a totally dry bilge ... then one wouldn’t need to waterproof it at all. Personally I’m a totally encapsulated in epoxy man myself ...

Any wood that goes in my boats gets old timers formula and then 5 coats of spar varnish. Should last 30 years even in a damp environment with that treatment.
I fish, therefore, I am.

Is the Azek a lot heavier than say, 5/8" or even 3/4" CDX? Or would you say it's close?

I had the same question. It is a PVC material. Specs I saw say a 5/8 4x8 sheet weighs 55 lbs.

Well that's pretty close. Interesting.
