Sports Illust. on the cheating scandal..and how far reaching cheating has become.

Talk about anything that floats your boat (no pun intended). This is general talk about anything not related to boating/fishing.

Glad they are catching this stuff, but in truth it is way down my list of things to worry about.

Warning: The following is my opinion and my opinion only.

To be a Fan, short for "Fanatic", is a mistake no matter what it is you are a fan of, this includes religion of any type.

Religion, created as the first drug for the masses, they had no real police forces back in the day and a standing army was a great expense to bear so people were free to do pretty much as they choose. Regions/states/countries needed some means of controlling the people, so they came up with, "Religion".

Good old religion, "Better be good or god with strike you down dead." Well today it's still a drug for many, but it is also a tool for propaganda, a tool to keep you otherwise occupied as world leaders make their behind the curtain moves.

The same goes for sports, we are all encumbered with "Oh my, they were stealing signh." "The football was deflated." or, "This or that one used PED's."

Meanwhile the politicians are making moves to support whomever is the largest donor family/corporation. The biggest banks making moves to put smaller lending institutions out of the business.

Dropping bombs to enforce their whims, but dumbing us down all the while.

I stand outside my daughters school and on any given day, one parent will walk up and say, "Oh, it's so cold outside, they say it's going to snow." "Did you hear about the cheating scandal in baseball?" Or if someone does venture down the bold path of political commentary it's something like, "Did you hear, they are going to impeach Trump." Or Obama was such a great president, I wish he were back in office."

When fact is, Obama took up right where Bush left off, bailing out major corporations, saving those that were "Too big to fail" and letting those "expendable" ones close shop without a minutes notice. Trump sounds good, but watch his hands, he's spending like a banshee, dropping bombs like Obama and Bush before him.

It's never ever someone that's politically astute, never someone that starts or is even open minded enough to see the similarities between them all. We, the American people are being played for the fools we mostly are. We listen and think what the mass media tells us to think. It's no secret that there are no more mom and pop news outlets anymore, they've all been bought up by the major players, and all the major players mimic one another.

So while I enjoy a good soap opera from time to time, sports like every other man made distraction is to keep the masses eye off the real and on the fake. So far it's working well.

Peace

PS, it was no secret IMO, you could hear the banging on the barrel over the airwaves, it wasn't a normal part of the game, everyone knew it was being done.

Rant over

Actually, what you are saying was originally postulated by someone back in the 1800's -- you know the guy who talked about "Opium of the masses". I personally don't agree with his thinking.
