WELL I'VE GOT A NEW PROJECT BOAT 3 WEEKS AGO. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME IM ACTUALLY GETTING TO WORK ON IT SENCE I'VE BEEN VERY BUSY WITH WORK AND FISHIN IN MY CLUB HIGH VOLTAGE BASS ANGLERS HERE IN GA. I STILL HAVE THE 1436 BUT HAD TO GET A BIGGER BOAT WITH THE NEW EDITION TO THE FAMILY....LIL MAN (TALMADGE RANDALL MASIELLO) COULDN'T BE A MORE PROUD DAD! FROM THE LAST BOAT TO THIS ONE THERE'S GOING TO BE PICS WITH EVERY NEW THING I DO TO KEEP YOU GUY AND GALS POSTED ON THE PROGRESS OF THE BUILD. SO AS THEY SAY LET THE BUILD BEGIN!!!! LOTS OF PICS TO COME SOON.........

Looking forward to watching. Congrats on the "Lil Man". I've been a very proud dad since March 23rd, 2012 to MY Lil Man.

Well got a lot accomplished today at a buddy of mineS welding shop. Got the middle seat cut out and started on my bracing for the front deck. (1 1/2 X 1 1/2 X 3/16 ANGLE)Livewell is fitted and looks good. After the last build with the 1436 I knew I didn't want the livewell in the back due to weight issues so I moved it to the front, but more less in the center of the boat for weight distribution..... Lesson learned on the last tin! Also I'm not putting the batteries in the very back of the boat, gonna be in the place where the back seat is now just to keep the weight centered best as possible ( that's to come havent started on back yet).
I'll be posting pics either later tonight or tomorrow depending on lil man!

Thanks
SUM-KINA

Here are some pics of the progress from Saturday from the welding shop. Still have lots of fab work to do, just a little on the front and quit a bit on the back.

The one question I do have is for the fill for the livewell. Is it better to have the pump on the side of the boat or in the back? Also would it be better to have more than just a spray head in the livewell?

I'd vote for the stern. If your anything like me, I'm rubbing up against stumps and cypress knees trying to get at crappie and catfish, which would tear the screen off pretty quick. As far as the spray head, as long as the water has proper O2 levels you'll be fine.

That's what I figure on the stern of the boat...(back) just due to the fact of hittin sticks stumps and depth of water, just cause I never point the back into the shallow water. As for the spray head in the livewell I figure the same thing just do to the fact that I'm always adding oxygen to the water and circulating....and that's all that are in the bass boats you see.

THE DAY I BROUGHT HER HOME!!!!!!

Looking good, that jackplate we talked about has 1" hole spacing, if your at the shop tomorrow call me, id like to come check it out.

Yeah really thing on the mini jack for the motor. Think it will help out for the same reason on yours as mine with the back hatches! That way I have solid hinged hatches and not a big cut out.

Got a lot more done this weekend. Haven't loaded all the pics yet soon to come. I finished the front deck bracing and completed the rear deck bracing as well. Now it's time to run wires, lights, bilge pump, pump to fill live-well, aerator and switch panel. Then the next big step Is the wood and seal.

Did a lot more to the boat this weekend! Built my storage boxes for front and back of boat. Sealed the boxes with thompsons water sealer (2) coats. Plumbed the boat for livewell fill, airerator and spray head and pump out, and the overflow drain. Sealed all the "under water line" with the famous 3M 5200. Carpeted the storage boxes with indoor/outdoor carpet from HD and high strength spray adhesive.

Lookin good man. I love my Xpress 1756. I'd like to do something like that to mine but mine is a shallow water boat and I'm worried about the weight. What motor are you planning on hangin on it?
