Hi, this is my first post on this site and finding it very helpful on my recent project boat just picked up. It is a older model Fisher Marine 12' flatbottom that I picked up for $250. I have a 6hp Evinrude Fisherman that I plan to put on the back of the boat. So far here is my list of to-do's. Any help and input would be appreciated. I am new to this boat but have had several jon boats. This is the first that gets a makeover.

List:
-Trolling motor/ battery
-removable front deck (want all decks made out of metal)
-Removable rubber flooring
-Complete Camo paint job
- Reinforce transom
-Upgrade motor to 8-10hp
-New lift handles
-Bedliner tops of seats where carpet is for slip-proof.
-keep same paint over bedliner.
-lights
-basic fishfinder for water temps.

I am sure I will want to do more but this is it so far. I have found a motor in San Diego next time I go up. It is a 2004 Mercury 8hp with warranty for $200. :D

So here is my boat. I have taken off the top carpeted seats, removed the PVC fishing poles holders, and removed the stickers from the side of the boat. I found that the boat is a Fisher 12' Jon Boat. I have pretty much cleaned it out and will pressure wash it soon to begin the painting process. I am currently looking for a jet ski trailer or a small boat trailer. Some in sight but have a long drive to get them. Any commentary would be helpful.

I recently picked up a 46lb thrust trolling motor for the boat. It is not brand new but will push this boat just fine. I want to get the boat painted before Christmas Break is over. Question is... Tan base or Hunter Green base like tracker uses? Either way I am going with Rustoleum.

So this weekend I got a lot of work done on my tin. I picked up paint/bedliner/ and primer. The back compartment I coated in bedliner which added a nice texture to it. The rest of the boat I roughed up the paint and primed any silver. Once I primed I began painting with the Rustoleum Camo Hunter Green. It is looking awesome. Right now that is where I stopped. I also picked up an old toolbox. I am thinking of ways to use this toolbox to make some cool stuff for the boat. The top I plan on using to put on a hinge and cover the huge cooler sized hole in my middle compartment but the rest is just sitting currently. Maybe a cool bow trolling motor mount. Let me know what you guys thinks.

So I kinda steered away from the jon boat over the last two months. Got into hunting season and bass spawn down here in AZ and lost interest. Now, we are planning a trip to the mountains to catch some trout and guess what boat we are taking. I have about 2 weeks to get her ready to go. The boat is still in same condition with paint and everything. I scored a free trailer that I am going to paint and throw some new tires on it. I got a transom mount trolling motor for free that will need a battery. And I also got a gas tank and hose for $30 brand new from Walmart (Good sale). So heres the plan...

First I am gonna get the boat completed. It has two 3" cracks that need to be sealed. Unfortunatly I am on a high schoolers budget with a min. wage job working max hours so I am going for cheap but effective  . I want to have it welded but I am just going to JB weld it and call it done for the time being. Then I am going to replace the wood, seal it, then add some new marine grade carpet to the bench seats. LED Light Bar in the front since I have a extra 14" I didn't use on my truck. Then grab a battery for troller. Don't really want seats since that is just more that will be in the way.

Next comes the trailer. I am going to sand it down, prime and paint it. I am going between gloss black or Harbor Freights Iron Armor which I love since the texture is perfect. I am going to replace the bunks and throw some guide on's on there. New tires or tire since I have one laying in the garage. Want to paint the wheels black to match my truck...yes I know waste of money but hey, its only ten bucks for paint. Trailer will need new wiring and lights and I can get those for $20 brand new at Walmart because of the sale.

What do you guys think? I need to get this thing done and in the water so any input or advice would be helpful. First jon boat I have ever worked with besides fishing. I want it to turn out nice.
