I like the boat. What size is she? And how is the stability on that casting deck?

12 foot 36 inch beam. ( edit 46 Inch !). Surprisingly it's pretty stable. You can stand with no problem. But you quickly learn to swivel the seat around to get to the rear of the boat. If you step beside the seat it sinks down quit a bit on that side due to the V hull.
You can see the mud/ slime line on the side. That was from me sitting in the front seat and about 100 pounds of weight in the rear to level her out. I don't have a motor yet.

Heres an easy way to make boxes. I made mine using 1/8th inch floor underlayment. And just caulked them together using adhesive caulking no frame work. There sitting on the floor with the top screwed to my deck framing. And there plenty strong enough.

Here we go.
This is what mine is going to resemble. I'm gonna use part of my front two benches as support for my casting deck with some extra support brackets. Mighty fine vessel u have there

I've been wanting to build a front casting deck on my 1236 for a while now like yours; very helpful seeing actual feedback on the stability of one!

I cut a template out of an old piece of plywood before I screwed up a new piece of plywood or my boat. Then took it to the water to try it out. Note if you want to try it out it. The plywood will hold you with it just laying against the v and over the front seat with out screwing it down.
Or if you can stand on your front seat you'll be good to go. I don't think there much difference in walking on the floor or the seat. Just makes you a little nervous being up that high the first few min.

Hey guys I lied! I was measuring the rear of my boat to get ready to mount a motor. And noticed it was 46 inches not 36. 52 in the middle.
My old john was 36. Guess I had that stuck in my head.
