Decided on a Alweld 1448 for a stable fishing platform for 2 people. I decided on the flat bottom to maximize room inside the boat and improve stability over the V front. Here’s the blank slate that I started with

I chose to pair this boat with the newly redesigned F25 due to its light weight and yamaha reliability. I added an aluminum false floor with closed cell foam underneath, a manual jack plate with 6” of setback, power tech SS prop

I switched out the small stock trailer tires with bigger, radial tires and some cool aluminum wheels

The performance of this motor is great on this boat, however since I do not have power t/t, I decided the manual jack plate was not the most efficient for my setup. I decided to switch out the manual jack plate for a Atlas micro jacker hydraulic one. This will allow me to bury the prop on takeoff and jack it up when running. This proved to be beneficial because I can now get on plane with a heavy load and the prop not blowout. I can raise the motor all the way up, which is about 3.5” above the bottom of the boat and stay hooked up while not losing water pressure. I also gained 300rpm on the top end.

Installed hydro turf on the aluminum floor to dampen the sound and keep your feet cool during the summer.

That hydroturf did you get it with the 3M adhesive on the back or did you use contact cement, and does it hold up as well as carpet or does it deteriorate quicker? Looks like i could do hydroturf for about the same price as a decent carpet and I like the look of the hydroturf!

I got mine without the backing and used weldwood in the red can. It was super easy to work with and will hold up way longer than carpet and look better than any carpet you can find.

Thanks,
I got a couple sample patches in the mail yesterday guess now I just have to decide if its worth the money, though it seems like it costs about the same as decent boat carpeting
