About a month ago I purchased a new Lowe L1440 M jon boat. This boat should be perfect for fishing our small Rhode Island fresh water ponds. I have decided to add a mid section floor notched out for the ribs, a rear casting deck and a front deck.

So far, I just completed the floor with 1 1/2" foam board between the ribs for support and have almost completed the rear casting deck. I used 3/8" plywood for the flooring and 1/2" for the rear deck. The rear deck is basically all supported except for the middle section (about a 20x20 inch opening) between gunnels. Planning to use 3/4" plywood there for better support and make this removable to access the battery/gas tank area.
Just finished painting all of this wood with oil base paint. Adding a second coat tomorrow. So far so good. Will eventually add a front casting deck.

will post some pictures soon.
