I sold my previous tin boat project after last summer, and swore off aluminum boats. The boat was good to me, and I went about as far as I could with a custom Jonboat, but it was time for me to jump over to a fiberglass boat.

I wasn't in any rush so I started leisurely searching for my next boat. Of course I stumbled on a deal too good to pass up and bought another tin boat I didn't need. It's a 2000 G3 MV175 Pro

The boat sat for a few years, a tank drain, waterpump, and carb kit then it was ready for the water. Took it for one ride and decided I'm just not about that bass boat sitting on the ground life, so I gutted it. I decided to go back to a simple skiff this layout on this one. I threw a tiller kit on the yamaha and started replacing any wood in the boat. Aluminum front deck, and Coosa board for the floor and rear deck pieces.

All of the carpet has been replaced with vinyl, and I am on to reassembly. This is where the project stands. I still have some electrical work to do, then I'll take it for a spin and figure out my next move.

A little update. I wrapped up the cockpit area for now. I reused the existing side panel and fit the switch panel and gauges to it. I'll eventually make a new panel, but this will do for the time being. I still need to make new hatch lids for the front deck.

I also added a jack plate to try and squeeze out some more performance

Nice build out. Where did you order the tiller kit? I didn’t know you could just buy a kit and convert to a tiller. I have what looks to be the same motor and would love to convert to a tiller

Tiller parts came from Boats.net. You'll need the tiller handle and the fit kit for your specific motor. For the 60/70 2-stroke the fit kit is part number 6X4-42102-53-00. The main handle is part number 6X4-42103-5C-00. Price was $617.75 for everything.
