Does the foam under the boat seats ever go bad? When redoing the seats should you replace it? Does spray boat have the same buoyancy. Thanks, John

I have an old 12 ft Mirrocraft that I pulled a seat apart on recently to install a grab bar. That foam was well protected on 4 sides by metal and was dry. I saw no problem with re-installing it when done.

Something to consider. In an enclosed area I would pack it with foam sheets, like styrofoam, instead of using two part foam. If you ever have to remove all or part of it you will be glad you did. Just my two cents.

Foam can get water logged or mice can build nest in it.
If it's in good condition reuse it if not replace it.
