I am looking for an outboard for my 1655. There are not a lot of long shaft tillers out there.
Even less with enough power to run my boat the way it should.

I am thinking about making a, steering only, tiller handle for a cable control motor.
Then I would put the throttle to my right and have the tiller handle to my left.

Anybody see a problem with this?

Stick steer is what got me thinking about it.
My boat is to wide for a regular stick steer though. I can't reach both sides.

Seems like it would be very natural to run.

Super cool graphic showing what I am thinking.
