I am in California and locked down. We have been for a week as i am in the bay area. All the lakes are slowly closing to public. Government is sending out checks to jumo start economy so I should do my part by spending it on boat lol. plus i need something to do while stuck at home.

Lets see your plans/Projects..

I had new hubs and bearings, grease, gear oil, and spark plugs delivered yesterday. I ordered new vinyl flooring, seat brackets, hatch and lights today. Ill post pics as the projects progress,

stay safe everyone.

I'm in Contra Costa. Called the stay-home hotline to ask if taking the boat to the lake was OK. They said yep as long as I maintained distance from other folks.

This morning I arrived at Camanche at about 6:30 am. Guy at the gate apologized and said they were waiting on word if the lake would open. I decided to come home. I see now that Camanche is temporarily closed.

I almost went yesterday. Drats, timing is everything.

Anyway, I like your idea of getting all the boat maintenance/project done.

I've been working on my Topper 1236, "Picture Heavy" installed a hatch in center seat for 29 series battery, mounted a control / switch panel with outlets, pvc conduit down the sides for wiring, added 4.5 x 4.5 2-gang outlet box to house 6-fuse panel.
Front Seat Box USB port and led illuminated shut off switch for my cell phone (18AH battery & mini fuse block inside)

Don't know what happened some of the pictures turned sideways ,upside down they appeared to be ok when I viewed the photo album..enjoy!

Thanks Moecarama. That post probably deserves its own thread.

Curious -- how did you cut away the opening for the battery (center seat bench and the foam)?

Currently I have a bunch of in-line fuses under the dashboard of my window walkthrough boat. Truth be told, after 68 years of wear and tear it is going to be pretty hard for me to crawl around the seat boxes to check fuses under the dash. Sooo, one of my still outstanding projects is to put all of the fuses in a more accessible place. Also going to add socket and USB outlets, a couple of switches and just clean up the wiring in general.

Guess it's time to quit talking about it and get er done. Haha

Straightening out clutter that I have been stepping over for years. Funny how boredom finally got me motivated to create a storage plan!

Nice work. I rewired a 1751 side console last year and hung the fuse box under the console. I used PVC conduit for wire routing. I really like your idea of putting the fuse box / distribution inside a junction box. I wish I had thought of that last year.

I just installed two new switches, a USB plug and a socket plug in the dash. Not hooked up yet cause I don't enough wire laying around. It is on order.

I think I'll also replace the negative bus bar. The homemade one works fine I'm sure, but I just don't like it.

I used a 4.5 inch angle grinder with the metal cutting blade on the straight section ,then used my jig saw for the curved corners, just have to move cautiously.

This thing would also work insanely well for this purpose. I got one recently, I can't believe I have lived for this long without one!

Just kicking one off. Gonna get it's own thread shortly. It's going to be a full tear down and rebuild. I've already got the bass boat, so this will be a family cruiser setup. I'm still trying to figure out the seating layout.

My wife & I are making cloth pre-filter masks for the ER. Takes about 45 minutes of labor each. Something to do beside watching TV.

That is terrific! Some of our neighbors do that too. They put out a call on the neighborhood website (nextdoor.com) for anyone who had elastic they could part with.

You know, I looked a the first three or four photos and thought the boat looks pretty good and why would he do a full tear down. Then I saw the last four or five photos and, well lets just say, I understand why now. :LOL2:

That is going to be a nice boat when you get it fixed up. I hope you start a thread.

That rig has all sorts of potential, I will be watching your progress / thread on rebuild.

I bought one of those brand spanking new in 1988. A 17ft Blue Fin Sportsman, same color. Was a nice boat but was underpowered with a 50hp Force outboard on it. The hull rating was for an 85HP, that would have been a bit more fun to have had that.
Kinda of shocking to see the interior trashed like that....
Best of luck with your rebuild.

Finally getting around to posting an update. got most of the vinyl done on boat, need to do one more small section but ran out so will need to reorder some. It came out pretty good for about 300 bucks in material. I was able to reuse most of the wood and just replaced the hardware. I added some new hinges, a hatch and and new seat mount.

Got the new (to me) Merc 9.9 4 stroke situated on back but need to get a jack plate before I can permanently mount. then iill work on controls , steering and redo some electrical.

Local boat shop has been great. I talk to them over phone and order parts. I pre pay over phone and call when i'm in parking lot and then come out and set the box down on curb. Cant thank them enough, have been super helpful (Boat Masters in Livermore, CA).

(sorry for sideways pics, not sure how to rotate. )

Got a couple of things done on the CC today. Installed led taillights on the trailer, changed out one of the batteries, changed gear oil, cleaned the carb on the kicker and amazoned a horn switch.
