Hi, I bought this little aluminum boat to take my boys out fishing. I’m trying to get paperwork established for it to get it registered so I can put an outboard motor on it. It’s 11 feet 3-5 inches long depending where you measure from And a little over 4 feet wide at its widest point. It appears to have been well decked out at some point. Has padded seats, platform for a fuel tank, brackets for anchor rope, oar lock mounts, cletes, strap mounts and multiple other accessories I don’t know what are for. It hasn’t been on the water in maybe 20 years. I took it out on the water and there are no leaks. Any ideas what year or era it’s from?? It has no coast guard data plate and no evidence of one being there. Has a number stamped on the inside of the transom/stern on the port side but that’s it.

Looks similar to a Sea King I had a while back. Several different manufacturers made them for Montgomery Ward. Not much info on them. Mine was 11'4" from outside to outside.

Things like the rear corner caps, knee brace and the bow cap are manufacture specific. Can you post pictures of them?
What are the numbers stamped on the transom?

I had this same boat. Purchased mine in 1964 from Sears. I believe that Elgin was the manufacturer for the Sears private label.

Elgin was just a brand name used by Sears. For instance the early Elgin outboards were made by West Bend. The boats were built by various manufacturers and rebranded Elgin. Might be a chore to figure out who built your boat.
