so i have a Johnson 20 hp....1972. It has sat for who knows how long. I did a compression check awhile back and it was great.....electric start worked good.....what do I need to look at before i try to start it?

There are a myriad of posts exactly like yours. Take some time and read through some of them.
Basically you will need to do gear oil (after checking for water), a water pump, possibly a complete kit with housing, possible carb job, new fuel lines, ignition service, grease all fittings, etc.
