2001 merc 15 hp four stroke. I'm wanting to replace the fuel lines underneath the cowling. What size is it?

Why don’t you remove the damaged/ worn hose and take it to and auto parts store and let them match it up.

There isn't a lot of room for hoses in an outboard engine. Normal automotive hose is probably too stiff to make the small radius bends that are necessary. Marine fuel line is more flexible. Take a piece of what you have to your local West Marine parts counter (or whatever marine shop is near you) and they will have what you need for sale by the foot.

Yeah the motor isn't sitting in front of me, that is why I was needing to but the line ahead of time. I think it's 1/4"

I try to keep a bulk roll of both 3/16" and 1/4" clear tygon hose in my shop at all times. Most fittings seem to be 1/4" but the tygon is softer than typical black hose and sometimes 3/16" makes for a better seal.
