2001 merc 15 four stroke. The carb was leaking fuel from the top and would flood the engine. Replaced the carb with a new carb. It ran fine for a day and started leaking fuel from the top again. Any ideas?

If it's leaking from a port on the top of the carb, it's most likely that the float needle is stuck in the open position. Since it happened on the new carb too, I would suspect debris in the fuel getting stuck where the float needle seats. Debris could be from the fuel tank, degrading fuel filter, or degrading fuel lines. If it's an older motor ethanol fuel can break down fuel lines that weren't designed for ethanol. Replace with ethanol safe fuel lines.
