Interesting find inside my evinrude trolling motor

It's an old Evinrude Drop down, I think its a 25 Lb.
Inside the motor housing, right at the end where the shaft goes in was this Transistor looking thing. It looks just like a TO-55 Package but the numbers are not familiar.
511855 and then under that was 7922. What is this? Anybody know?

That's a head scratcher.I only see three image links.I'll PM this to and see if he has any idears.

Sorry I can't help with the trolling motor question.I never worked on those.
 
I can not say with 100% guarantee but my guess would be it is either a power transitor or a heat thermistor. You might email Jones Trolling Motor service at [email protected] (https://www.jonestrollingmotor.com/). They should be able to tell you exactly what it is and it's purpose.
