Currently I have an on/off switch on my livewell. i'd like to hook soemthign up to that on/off switch to cycle my livewell when it's loaded with fish. Any suggestions? I don't need anything adjustable, just something that will cycle it on/off and not run it 24/7 and kill my battery

thanks

There are many types available. Most any boat dealer or most major outdoor stores carry them also.
Even can google "livewell timer" many will show up.

I did some checking threw my catalogs and online, only thing could find in your price range is this from Directed Electronics. I have used these in custom car applications triggering different things like lights, actuators, motors, and custom security features.

It can pusle time with adjustable delay, but only be set at 1-60sec delay. But will pulse a pump on and off. It will handle up to 30 amps of current which should be plenty for livewell pump. One could get up to 120 sec in time by having one trigger another. But would take some thinking on wiring having one trigger other on, delay for 60 sec, then trigger other programmed at 60 sec, so that one tripped it would in turn trigger first one again. Doing this by one big loop. turning them off by cutting power to them completely.

Think would be lot easier though getting timer designed for livewell. What would be interesting though is making it trigger a actuator that would jig a unattended icefishing pole every few seconds. Like a tipup that is out of shack. Now it has me thinking and wanting to play building something. :D

I got this one last spring and am very happy with the way it works. I use it mostly for the aerator on my bait-well, and I keep it set to the lowest run duty cycle it has, which is 1 min on - 6 min off (+ or - a few seconds).
