I switched from Lowrance to Garmin a few years ago. Honestly, there really isn't much of a difference in the sonar between Garmin, Lowrance or Humminbird. I switched because Garmin included high definition maps without having to buy expensive map chips. I also liked the fact that even lower end units came with maps and the software to create high definition maps for lakes that were not one of the 17,000 that came included wit the units. Things change so quickly with sonar units, it's hard to keep up with the new units. I've been pretty happy overall. I wouldn't hesitate to buy Garmin again when I decide to upgrade again.

Run a garmin 93sv. Love the maps.still learning the sonars. Best 600$ I ever spent. If u can find it on sale even better deal.
