Got a 14’ Jon boat that needs the wood for the transom replaced. I know not to use any treated wood, so what options do I have? Thanks!!!!

I usually laminate (glue) 2 pieces of plywood together and then seal it with spar urethane. Some guys like the old timers formula of mineral spirits, linseed oil and spar urethane.

If it had ply, replace it with ply. You may need to laminate a couple different pieces together to reach the correct thickness.

My alumacraft had a hardwood plank in the transom, so I replaced it with a piece of oak, planed to the right thickness.
