So...

I bought front led lights red and green of course and a white post for the rear. A small 12 volt battery, and a 3 switch rocker panel that also came with a voltmeter and 2usb ports. I have no experience with wiring please forgive me if I am wrong. Wire reds to positive, blacks to negative, then hots from lights to single pin on switch, negatives of lights to ground. Thinking I need a switch inline on battery for power on off. Also thinking perhaps set of busbars to take connections on battery terminals. Please let me know if you have thoughts.

Thank you

You've got it right.

If you wanted, you could change the jumpers around on that switch panel to allow one switch to be a master on and off, but that's up to you.

At the battery side (+) you should put an inline fuse, if you add a bus bar, make sure to use a gauge of wire that will handle any future growth.

Correct on the wiring.

I got an inline fuse . thought it was funny it didn't come with at least one fuse . I used 12 gauge for the power wiring. As for using one of the switches as a master on off. I am glad you mentioned it . It had honestly not occurred to me.

I used the same set up but mine has the five switch, volt meter, and usb. Bilge, live well, nav light , docking light and master. Did you get yours from Amazon?

Yes I did. Made just a bit of progress last night. Got the lights wired to the middle of the boat. speaking of amazon I got these delivered last night as well. After the snow we are expecting passes I hope to make some progress. :(
