1976 Evinrude 40HP Pull Start Issue

It definitely has to be something in the pull start assembly bc I can grab that plate at the top and turn the crankshaft and can feel the compression when I turn it.

That's what I was thinking as well.. I took it apart earlier and the actual nubs on the paws -that grab that notched disk on the top of the motor - were bent upwards.. I looked at marineengine and they look like they are supposed to lay flat/inline with the rest of the paw. I am hoping that's...

1976 Evinrude 40HP Pull Start Issue

So this weekend I was out on Patoka Lake in Indiana.... I shot out to a cove to get the kids some shade and let my wife do a little crappie fishing. I shut off the engine for about an hour and when they were ready to find a new hole I went to fire up the engine and get going.. I hadn't put it in...

1976 Fisher Marine 15' flat bottom

Was just doing some shopping at Bass Pro yesterday, bumped into a guy tht does a lot of jon boat restorations...He buys this off of craigslist, restores them, and then sells them... He told me that he uses rhino liner instead of the spar varnish on the plywood flooring... said will hold up and...

I have 2" styrofoam ... I am going to use that..... As far as the sides go... I was thinking about leaving them as they are right now..just roll on the bed liner and paint it.... I've insured the boat so as much as I want to keep it, if it does sink I will just recoup my money and start again.

I've been trying to knock multiple things out at the same time... not trying to get ahead of myself, just more or less prepare certain things (spar on the flooring) while the last bit of Rhino liner is drying..

I plan on keeping the console... i will be hitting a lot of rivers with this thing and like to stand up and look forward of the boat for logs and so on against the banks...I will however be cutting it down and reducing its signature by about 50%..... I just finished my second coat of the spar...

    1977 Fisher 15/38 project (updated 10/11/14)

Will the tough coat bond to the spar? I just layed my second coat of spar on my plywood...wanted to do tough coat or grizzly or something like that but a friend said the tough coat wouldnt bond to the spar. Just curious.

It is the type you buy from Autozone... I have used it before on a few things like my 76 CJ and a few of my friends trucks.... I had only one little leak in the hull of the boat and I intend on flipping the boat over and fixing it from that side as well... as far as if it seals well, after it...

Where did you find aluminum at that price? I have an 20' aluminum ladder that has been sitting behind my shed for some time bc it broke so I will be using that. I would like to grab some angled stock to frame up my storage boxes though.

You can't physically set each grid a value... I just decided that each box equalled say 3'' and kept it at that value through out the whole drawing.
