    Q-14 (semi V) AeroCraft Project

Hey there, beautiful mod. Take a look at my 64 Aerocraft I did last year. https://www.tinboats.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=25107 Awesome boats as they are sturdier and handle a little more weight than others the same size. I went with a little different layout as usually my wife and kids...

    AEROCRAFT MODIFICATIONS - 99.998% DONE

Thanks a lot. It took longer than I thought, but not real long in the scheme of things. Got most of it done in April so that it was ready for a walleye derby on Oneida lake the first weekend in May. Then I finished up with the remaining amount this month. Just getting ready for bass season...

I will have to look it up. I do have it and I believe it is the 1964. Very solid boat.

    My First Post and Conversion

My tip is to have a plan, but be ready to improvise a lot. Things work in theory, even on paper or autocad, but sometimes in application you will find problems that arise or things that warrant a change of plans.

Run two deep cells or do I have options?

Ok, I do not need a battery for my motor. So my deep cell is up front for my trolling motor. Now, I am adding the depth finder, bow and stern lights, two 8" led strips for the few times I go night fishing, bilge pump and aerator for the livewell. Can I add a small lawnmore/jetski type batter...

    Trailer Winch Hook and replacement

I wanted to replace my trailer winch as the spring holding the little switch is gone and the rope used is a little frayed. I didn't notice until I went to replace it that the hook is so large it barely fit on the piece it attaches tot he boat on. So no way the safety chain won't connect...

Marine sealants and waterproof caulks with silicone

I am in need of some marine sealant for the transom bolts in a new transom. I have absolutely nowhere even close to me that sells the 3m 5200. Are their other things that can be used? I heard there was a driveway sealant that had the same ingredients as 5200, but can't remember exactly...

Width of transom wood need for a 14' alumimi, semi v.....

Thanks, I was trying to decide if going 1" with the transom wood would be enough or if 1 1/2" was overkill on a small boat and motor. Trust me, I am staying far away from pt wood. Gonna go grab the transom wood tonight and wanted to make sure I have all my ducks in a row!

Width of transom wood need for a 14' alumimi, semi v.....

Thickness. The length I am going to just go 4 feet. My transom was cobbed pretty much when I got it. It had I am trying to decide if I should just do two 1/2" pieces of oak plywood or 3/4". The outside back piece I am pretty sure was 3/8 so I will go 1/2" with that piece.

    Transom wood - Sealing question

This may be a dumb question, but, do I sandwich the pieces together with marine sealant or a glue and then eurthane over the whole thing, or do each piece before sandwiching them together?

    Transom wood - Sealing question

Thanks. i have two cans of the Helmsman spray and will probably use that for all the transom pieces. I am going to grab some 3/4" oak plywood (I guess oak is the preferred for transoms?) and put two pieces together for the inside piece and then a pieces for outside the boat on the transom.
