Upon researching my other 1961 Lone ⭐ Star Malibu.
I came across this little Gem . Clear title.1959.
Complete steering, Windshield seat mounts.
Ready to go just add an engine. She has original paint.
Scheme as seen in the early brochures.
Think this was towing Wiki Watchi Mermaids on skis.
Way...
I have an 08 Tohatsu 8hp.
Good for heavy loads. Lots of low end Torque. No top speed with 4 stroke mini's.
Hey a Yamaha 15 or Mercury 15 2 Stroke. Lighter than any 4 Stroke.
Well today we got the Mercury on there cleaned out an old fuel tank got an old fuel line cleaned up.Put it all back together pulled her over a couple times and she fired right up those shift to throttle Mercury's are crazy.
I think that big blue seat is too big..
It got late... Score another for the home team...
A nice old Red Stripe Mercury 15 Horse
. Looks like 85-86. She had a nice salt bath
over night. Pulled her out of the pickle tank.
Continued flushing with salt away and WD40.
Pulled the carb. Fuel pump and filters. All cleaned up.
Now test...
Been making some progress. Shop vac and a
whisk broom. Then the rain opened up.
Well I was already wet anyway...
Stayed out till dark to get seats and
floors in her. No leaks so far...
Thinking of power .
She is rated for a 45hp
Like a Classic 50 Old Blue Stripes Merc.
Been looking...
I had to convince him the people were really small back in the '50s and '60s and there's no way for real people of 2023 will fit in that boat so we only really only need one front seat each...
My buddies is for sure a
1959 Lone ⭐ Star Malibu
Here are the hole patterns. Same on each.
Factory brackets, I have to get those
from him. No Splash well.
Im almost an expert now..... Lol
You guys have been a great help...
Here is a better shot of the seat back bracket mounting holes. Not sure if anybody can confirm these are in correct spot. Malibu is a better name than the Coronado.
I will weld up some removable seat backs. For fishing and skiing.
Apparently we have a...
envelope please
1961 Lone ⭐ Star
With seat bracket holes in back or front and rear seats.
My buddies 59 Malibu has the same holes in his. Just no transom splash well.
I like the idea of having a splash well, that definitely increases the stability of that transom.
Found a 1961 Coronado
Different paint. No seat backs in rear. Cushions not available as an option.
I think I like the paint scheme better on that Coronado.
