    VHF radios

Had a Standard Horizon (console/not handheld) with a good 6' antenna for 3 years on the previous boat and it worked well. Basically line of sight with VHF so consider a non-handheld for the extra range you get with a better antenna is my suggestion.

Is the motor height going to be an issue?

Run it awhile and try moving weight around in the boat to see if that doesn't give you some positive effects. Will also change when you put a 2nd person in the boat so you're looking for a compromise that works well both when your solo and when you have a 2nd person, unless you do one or the...

    Experienced opions on my setup

I'd put a 9.9 on it since there are many lakes around me with that limit for gas motors along with that being a great size motor for that size boat. Keeps you safe on bigger open lakes that might get windy or when a storm is brewing in the distance and you need to get back to the dock in a hurry.

How many of you enjoy a decent stereo in a boat?

Headphones for 6-7 people while pulling a tube or skier? Really? I mean I get the silence and nature sounds part and enjoy them often when I'm by myself or fishing with my fishing buddy. That doesn't mean that when it's time to rock with a group of friends that I have to be mindful of volume...

I love the sounds of running across the lake in the fog, birds and wildlife coming to life as the sun rises and the silence so quiet I can hear the baitfish splashing as they try to escape whatever is chasing them. When I'm fishing by myself, that is the norm. But there are...

How many of you enjoy a decent stereo in a boat?

They have really good reviews for clean sound and power handling, especially if you compare to like priced speakers. Kind of the same thinking as you. I wanted to improve the volume and clarity over the cheap stock stuff without breaking the bank and spending 2k.

How many of you enjoy a decent stereo in a boat?

After going to the Audio shop and looking at some options for a head unit, I decided to put a Wet Sounds MC2 head unit in it as well with my SKAR stuff. He's going to do some custom mounting work for the rear speakers so I still have my fold down seats on my Targa V19 Combo. Dropped the boat off...

How many of you enjoy a decent stereo in a boat?

My Tracker V19 Combo came with a cheap head unit and 2 very cheap speakers. I bought 4 Skar 6.5" and a 1000w Skar amp. Will be installing here soon. The unit that came in the boat was okay, just not loud enough for the passengers since the speakers were in the driver and front passenger seat...
