Motor Question - Honda BF 25

I am running a Honda 25 BF short shaft 1994 model, went out last week and it started with first pull 8) . Mine has been great, only minor tune ups and a new impeller a few years back. It sees mainly salt/brackish water use. It is a bit heavy, so I have to move my gas and battery forward in the...

    Battery Local

I have a similar situation, battery is up front, and I place the fuel tank near middle of boat. Works OK for me. Another option would be to look into transom splash guards like this https://www.wavewackers.com to keep you dry. I am considering making my own splash guards, motor kicks up a bit of...

    Honda Outboard Full Throttle Help

I had an original equipment gas hose that collapsed on the inside, everything looked good but not enough fuel passed through the line, if you have not replaced your fuel line recently, might be a fix. Also when I updated the fuel line from the gas tank, I went one size larger. Just a thought.

anyone ever raised the sides of a v-hull?

As for transom height, I have thought of adding these to help prevent the occasional swamping attempts. https://www.whitecapmfg.com/applications.html just a thought.

What do you use to clean your hull

Careful with the bleach, it can do a number on aluminum if you don't wash it right off. Best not to use.

    Newbie Questions about v-bottoms

I have an Alumacraft V-14 and have used it almost exclusively in brackish water since 1994. It is really no worse for wear. As far as the motor, I always flush it well with fresh water. Only minor cosmetic damage I have to the boat is I used a little bleach on it, and aluminum really does not...
