Yeah, I was trying to avoid having to make one, but I may just take a ton of good pictures of this huge one I have a copy it in a smaller size. I am just so crushed for time I was hoping to avoid another project.

So I have decided to purchase a jack plate for my 25hp Mercury 2 stroke/ Alumacraft NCS 1442. I figure it'll help out with the prop motor for now and I'll need it when I go to a jet pump (15" transom). I thought that I had bought a small jack plate through Bass Pro, but the thing is HUGE. No way...

No clicks, no nothing. I am assuming that it's the solenoid. Last time it would click, but not crank. Then after a while, nothing. Changed the solenoid, bam! Back in business. Two days later, nothing.

How could that happen? Wrong starter? Please bear with me, I'm pretty handy, but electrical diagnosis is definitely not my strong suit.

So I recently replaced my starter solenoid on my motor and it worked great for about 10 starts, now no electric start again. I noticed that there were several old solenoids in the bag-o-parts the PO gave me so there must be an issues. Anyone have any ideas, cause I have none.

Oh, and my Tiny Tach is completely fogged up and unreadable. I guess I am going to have to unmount it and take it apart to be able to use it.

I wound up moving the batteries back under the front of the far deck. The boat now sits perfectly level in the water when unloaded, but I start porpoising at about 24-25 MPH with only me in the boat. I NEVER take this thing out alone so I am going to have to get some weight up front and see how...

I would definitely use the smaller motor as a drive unit only and steer drive with the second larger motor. It would take minimal hardware to get the 24# clamped going straight forward and would certainly be the easiest, most affordable option.

It started jumping post to post on the large terminals. I bought a new solenoid today, installed it and it starts right up. :-) My motor is officially 100% fixed. I am happy.
