    Shifting issue...Is my season over??!!!

So I was working on my carb today, putting a new float on + a all new gasket for the carb and fuel pump. That went off without hitch, put the carb back on and crank it up to see how it ran and I have 2 forwards and reverse is neutral. I experienced this before when putting the lower unit back...

    Launching your Boat Alone

Maybe because I dont have a very heavy boat, but I just unhook it, get the boat in the water enough to be boyant enought to slide off the bunks(but not floating). I then just slide it off and around the trailer to a shoreline or dock. I usually get my feet wet, but I am at the lake!

    Mercury Carb Repair Kit

Hi all, I am interested in purchasing a carb repair kit, but I ca't determine what all comes in it. It is for my 9.8hp and the merc part number is 9026. Any ideas? My main concern is I need new gaskets for the float bowl, and I am not sure if those are seperate. Thanks again!!

    back fire

just for future reference impeller($10-$25)/water pump(full housing about $50) replacement takes about 20 minutes, and one wrench. you are going to be charged over $120 for that work. Called 3 shops here in San Antonio, TX before doing it myself and they wanted as much as $180 to do this. So...

    1968 Starcraft V-Hull Makeover

I am a believer in JB Weld. I used it to adhere the floorpan of my rock crawler Toyota, and I punished it severely. Slammed down the truck on 2 wheels plenty of time, and had it in plenty of door high water with no leaks....from the floor anyway :D

    Thump when idleing down

I guess it happens from idle to low idle after shifting it into neutral. It doesn't seem to do it in gear.

the smallest tracker Jon that will accommodate that kind of weight (person wise) is a welded1754. That is pretty large and pretty expensive. You can go with the guide V-16ft for about $3300. I am jsut usig Tracker as reference because I had the website open, I am sure all other makers are...

    South Texas cell phone service?

I am in San Antonio, and I have both AT&T and Sprint. AT&T works better inside, Sprint has longer range if you are going to be out in the gulf or in the middle of no where. I used to have verizon, but that was years ago. Tmobile doesn't even work in some spots on 35 between here and Dallas.

Looking for a laptop for the wife.

Being the apple "admin" i.e. the apple guy for a hospital, I do not recommend bying an iPad or pad of any variety. There is no way to upgrade or repair these and I have one that is failing right here next to me. These are great secondary toys, they are specifically large ipod touches. For...

    Kayak/Canoe Racks for Jon Boats

I am thinking maybe buying a harbor freight ladder rack and modifying it with a set of legs and cross bracing. The legs wuld work like a bicycle mechanic stand, I would just have to use some metal straps to secure the legs tothe flooring, maybe a backplate? I don't know, it would be cool...

help needed for a 6 hp johnson

I had a similar problem. Make sure the water return line is connected securely inside the housing to the bottom of the motor. Also, pull the hose from the outlet and check that water runs freely. If it does clear the outlet with something small like a needle or a pen.
