I did test drive it before buying but that’s the only time I’ve had it on the water. It felt a little nose heavy and was carving a bit Which I think I can fix by adjusting the tilt by one hole. It didnt cavitate on the straightaways but I didn’t try any turns at speed as I was on a river...
Hi everyone. Eventually, I’ll need to purchase a shifter set up and wanted to confirm a few things. My boat is a 56 Aerocraft and the engine I’m working on is a 67 evinrude Fastwin. I think the first pic is correct for the boat and the second is correct for the motor. Is that right ...
For a trouble free lighting circuit over the years, I’d recommend crimp sleeves/solder/marine shrink tube at each wire connection. Intermittent connections are common after some time when using the blue quick connect spade type connectors. Harbor Freight is a good source for cheap marine...
Excellent info, thanks skeet. I think I’ll end up with a small spacer on top of the transom as well. I have no idea whether my 3 blade prop is optimized or not. I’ll be getting a wireless rpm sending unit in the spring to see where I’m running and go from there.
Thanks for the pulley info. I tried marine engine and it didn’t like that pn for some reason. I’ll track it down. Appreciate the teleflex input Crow. I’m sure it’s a good system as well.
Thanks very much for digging up this option. It’s certainly the right shape and I’ll forward it on to him. Although, I think it needs to be flanged on all 3 sides for attachment reasons. Perhaps this could be modified (flanged) on the two straight sides. Much appreciated.
A quick search reveals that 3” garage door pulleys may be a good substitute. Metal with bearings rather than plastic with bushings. Also removable forks (probably not these ones) may allow me to use the original hull anchors without having to drill out the rivets. They also allow better...
Thanks Jeff. That’s a cool looking boat - I’ve always been interested in jet boats. What engine were you running ? It would be cool to drop an electric motor in it if the battery tech was available/affordable. Silent running except for water. While l lean towards the original look, I’m fine...
I really like the layout of that boat - congrats. I painted mine navy blue with bare aluminum and am happy with the overall look/ contrast. I bet that boat really flies when you get it on the water. My keel is quite banged up and bent upwards in the middle from misplaced center rollers. I’m...
