First thanks for the kind words. Yep it will reach the back seat it is pretty stretched out but it reaches. I am thinking of adding a second one on the other side of the front because they are only about 2 bucks and installing them is easy.
Same bases I used in my boat. I have the front on 3/4s and that is fine. On the rear deck I used 15/16ths ply. So what I did was place a second square of 3/4s just a bit larger then the foot print on the base and attach it under the deck and then screwed the base into both the 15/16th and on...
OK guys got that page with all my boat modifications done as I posted on my other thread. I just added a video that came out pretty cool though so figured I would start a new thread about that. I also gave a nice link to the forum here as requested.
Hope ya'll enjoy my video and if you would...
Same as any 5HP would which is not fast by any means but no problems. I can't say enough good things about the motor, runs like a champ, starts on one pull and can go for **** near ever on 3 gallons of gas. Even after 1.5 years of storage it started with 2 pulls.
All I can say is I decked mine and it is much nicer now. I kept the mid decks really low. Have a look at my post on my 14 foot jon to get some ideas. Decks don't always have to be high to be functional.
OK I did not get out with my boat to fish this weekend but I did clean it up to get ready to get out soon. I got all the junk out of it my son piled into it and posted my final pics. Have a look,

I also shot a small video but have not edited and...
On my boat with the amount of wood and the way I distributed it I have no problems. That said I don't consider it a three man boat any more. I took out three in it a few times before the mods and had no issues. My total weight add is just under 100 pounds so two people is now like three and...
Hey thanks I really have meant to update the page for a long time with new pics and all. If the weather is good in Dallas on Saturday I am taking it out to chase some sand bass which are starting to really pick up about now.
Hey new guy to the forum. You can see the entire story of about 75% of my project on a 1977 Seaking Jon Boat here.

I have actually completed the project now and will post some final pics and comments to it soon. It came out in the end a lot...
