New guy With a new boat

Nice looking boat. I'm sure it will look even nicer with a trolling motor sitting atop the bow. I also fish mainly the Susquehanna but south of you, usually between Sunbury and Harrisburg with a few trips on the Juniata when the water is up.

    Where is everybody?

I'm in Duncannon, Pa. Close to where the Juniata River meets the Susquehanna river.

Spinner bait makers - a few questions

You could make your own heads and cut the costs by about .90 a piece. It would mean buying the melter, ladle and a mold but after making 100, they would pay for themselves. A friend of mine makes his own heads and, from what he says, its pretty easy.

    Power loading?

I've power loaded my boat from the first day. It helps when you have someone to teach you when, why and how much when doing it for the first few times, though. I also have had some good laughs at the ramp along with my share of mistakes so I'm usually willing to help or be patient when waiting.

Jet Boat Ride of a Lifetime

They used to run river jet boats like that below the Grand Canyon. I don't know if they still do since I haven't been there since '93 but I went on one of them and it is well worth the money spent.

    What's it worth?

A Grizzly 1654 in my area would fetch $2500 all day if it had everything you listed. It's the perfect size for running on the rivers around here.

Maximum Outboard Horsepower Capacity (Guide and how-to)

Jets are always listed like that because there is hp loss when going from a prop to a jet. In the instance of a 200/140 jet, if you were to take off the jet boot and put on a prop, the engine would be rated at 200 hp. In PA, the restrictions on your plate only pertain to the hp at the...

    locking down motor

Depends on the water you have your boat on. I plan on running mainly on the Susquehanna River here in Pennsylvania and it is a MUST that you don't lock down the motor. Most areas of the Susquehanna near Harrisburg are waist deep (with some areas only being ankle deep right now) and it has tons...

    New Member Introductions!

New to me boat. Only had it out once but everything performed better than expected. I had to move the winch up the rail on the trailer 8 inches to make the trailer more stable but other than that, I'm very happy.

    New Member Introductions!

Jeremy from Duncannon, PA(just north of Harrisburg). Just purchased my first boat, a 1982 1760 Polar Kraft with a 35 hp prop(same year's model) that's soon to be swapped out for a 90/65 jet. I live about 2 miles away from where the Susquehanna River is joined by the Juniata River. A friend got...
