    anyone try Rustoleum Leakseal?

For just the inside I'd say grab two, maybe if you want it heavy, or a little extra for side projects on the boat, touch ups, etc. maybe grab a 3rd too. That's a pretty good price.

    anyone try Rustoleum Leakseal?

If you're on bare aluminum, just soap and water (or even 50/50 vinegar & water). If you want to go even further, use some mid-grit sand paper, and just go over the area to be covered, then rinse, let dry, and roll it on. Nothing different than painting with any other stuff, the roll on...

    Foam help

Thanks for the info, I'll check that stuff out next time I'm in HD. Just want to fill the areas between ribs to make an even surface. I'll put a water resistant adhesive between the floor and foam, and after the carpeting is done, I'm going to rivet light aluminum angle iron to the benches to...

    anyone try Rustoleum Leakseal?

Well the spray liner is $10/can, and at Wally World, the roll-on gallon is just shy of $50. To work properly, the liner needs to be applied in pretty heavy coats; to do this with the spray can you would need a LOT to cover the bottom of a boat, especially to build it up. I've painted everything...

    Foam help

Hey guys, had a few questions about adding foam to my 12' flat floor. I'm not putting in a wood floor because I need to keep things super light. However I would like to put down carpet, but it will be awkward laying it over the ribs and bare floor, so I was thinking about laying down some type...

    JB MarineWeld?

Thanks, I think that's what I'll do too, pick up a couple cans of their self-etching primer and coat it once, then Wally World has the gallon of rustoleum liner and I'll roll that on the bottom and up the sides about 4" inside and out. After that dries, I'm going to paint the rest of it in flat...

    Over the weight limit...

Yeah... Obviously not. What I was trying to get at here, is if the boats listed capacity is more of a "safe rating" and has a little extra give to it. When it's me and my fishing buddy, were darn close if not on the capacity when we're out, and boats not even close to low in the water. It's...

    Over the weight limit...

Ok guys, got a question for you, just looking for a few opinions because I know the technical answer. So I got a 12' sears flat-bottom Jon boat, rated for 440lbs. I never bust my weight capacity on it in a normal situation. However, I would really like to take my grandpa fishing with me soon...

    JB MarineWeld?

In going to use some of the marine weld to fix two small holes on the top side of my jon, near the oar locks, looks like it once had a handle and the rivets for it were removed. Gonna plug it up with the marine weld, and then paint over it.

    Need beach launchable Jon Boat

If you wanted to go with a 14' flat jon, which really seems the ideal choice for your needs based on seating/weight capacity, you could go the same route I took. I have to fit my 12' Jon into a grand cherokee, and only about 5-6' fit inside the rear with seats down, so I went to harbor freight...

84 Sea Nymph Conversion 12 ft V bottom

Home Depot has the outdoor carpet for about $.49/sq.ft in their carpet department and they will cut any size/amount. Not a bad deal, and they got multiple colors and types.

    JB MarineWeld?

Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback, sounds like this stuff should be used as more of a "repair" than preventative maintenance. I guess since all my rivets were previously sealed, and I'm not experiencing any leaks as of yet, I'll just spray the bottom inside and out, and probably up the...

    JB MarineWeld?

Sorry, I probably should have clarified too, I don't actually have any leaks at all, or loose rivets. Every rivet on my boat has been thoroughly sealed and siliconed and is leak free. I guess I'm more or less looking for an extra application as extra security before I finally paint it. Maybe...

    JB MarineWeld?

Hey guys, anyone ever used this JB MarineWeld for sealing rivets/seams on the bottom of their aluminum Jons? I was reading about its use in a few other places, and the info on their website makes it sound like extremely solid, durable stuff, and is designed specifically for boats. It mixes into...

Sealer for bare aluminum flat hull?

Hey guys, I'm trying to find a cheap, lightweight sealant to (preferably) spray on the bottom of my aluminum 12' flat bottom jon. The PO already sealed literally every single rivet as preventative maintenance, and did a good job with a good material, but now I got a million little sealant spots...
