    Blazing fast new computer

Software companies need to understand that older users like me need a KISS system. I don't need all the bells and whistles, "jewels", etc. As a user, Windows 8 was a joke to me and the "new" 8.1 isn't much of an improvement. I think these upgrades and improvements are only done to justify...

Under 8 months to FULL retirement. At least, that's the plan

Redbug, I know what you mean. I worked for 35 years, most of it as an outside technician for Ma Bell. I can't imagine doing that type of work again but then again I was much younger and dumber at the time!

Under 8 months to FULL retirement. At least, that's the plan

I retired with an income of roughly half of my normal working income. Yes, it looks like it would be difficult but to tell the truth, I have more play toys now than when I was working! The main reason it was possible was that I invested in my retirement by making sure my son could live on...

    New Handheld VHF Radio

IMO, you get what you pay for. I've had that brand products before and the quality matched the price. I now have Cobra hand held units, which are still on the lower price end, but seem to hold up much better.

    it's been a while..

Hope things work out for you. I had a basset hound once before too. She was a great family dog and required surgery for a hernia but money was no object for a family member. I was truly amazed at how fast she could run. I dubbed her the land torpedo!

    Trailer repair

Might not be a bad idea and you'll have peace of mind. I bought a brand new trailer for a glass boat which cost $1400 where I live. The trailer that it replaced didn't pass the hammer test.

    I am going to retire.

Glad you're enjoying it! I'm on my sixth year of retirement. Looking forward to my new canoe arriving Thursday. I just finished installing automatic sprinklers at my son's house and almost finished fixing and rerouting my GF's new automatic sprinklers just installed by a PRO. :roll...

New Toy 1986 Jeep Wagoneer XJ 2.8 PICs Added 9/24/2013

Maybe check for any vacuum leaks? Can you slowly increase throttle without it stalling? Even tiny leaks will cause big problems. Good luck.

NAME 5 NEED TO KNOW PEARLS OF WISDOM- beginner help

Please make sure your "mechanic" checks the lower unit for the proper oil. Run the motor in a tub of water before taking it out to get used to the feel of the throttle. Some throttles are really touchy, some are adjustable, some are tight, etc. Safety, safety, safety, safety...

    No Spark on top Cylinder

I recently had a no start situation after two days of perfect running. No spark to either of two plugs by grounding them to the block. All resistance readings were correct so changed both plugs and started on first pull. Even with new plugs couldn't see any spark by grounding plug to the...

    Should i do this?

Good advice. I would be cautious because the trailer is pretty cheap and everything looks like it was painted the same color such as the fenders, frame, springs, etc. Seems like seller is trying to cover up something. I once bought a glass boat with a trailer that was all one color. When I...
