opps... well just Google checking outboard magneto with battery... it's just using a flashlight battery to drive current thru the primary of the coil BRIEFLY then when you disconnect it the magnetic field you created collapses and you get a spark on the secondary to ground..yea.. majic
Klear floor wax on the hull lets the scum come off easier.. now the outboard... UV is what fades it..
? worst place for UV.. AIRPLANES and airplane paint is very expensive... best UV protection is ...(tested by Practical Sailor Magazine)

IMHO the two separate straps linked by the lifting ring provide a quick/safe point as the two straps are pulled together towards each other...

I agree with everything ' cept the heat shrink tubeing on new leads and or terminals... IMHO heat shrink on wires only works on single strand wire and then only marginally. It cannot conform to the spaces between the individual strands...

..and the current (juice) carrying capacity of wire is based on it's thickness.. ie cross sectional area... yours is going...
