    Trigger spin reel

I use a spinning reel with a trigger on it. The nicest one I can find is the Shimani Spirex. I love these reels...probably have 4 or 5 of them. They do make a 1000 size as well. Little different than a spin cast reel but almost same benefit. Online complaints are that they have dual paddle...

    Depth finder interference

I don't know the cause, but I believe the pros put the rear in Stand by mode when the go to the bow. Probably very similar to trolling motors causing interference when hooked to the same battery as the fish finder.

    24 volt trolling motor

There are others that are probably better at this than me, but since no one has answered you I will try and help. I would say its not a good idea. If the set up worked with out damaging the 12 volt, best case is you will draw down on one battery more aggressively than the other which will...

marinco receptacle ....not sure how to differentiate 12/24 v

I agree with Ben. I recently changed what inputs my wires were using because the old one was a little lose and I wanted a tighter grip. I believe all you need to do is line up positive to the same slot on both ends, repeat process for negative. The third hole is for the motors that can run both...

    Power Pole Micro Anchor

Thanks for the update. Please post back if you have any issues with it. This item is most likely my next upgrade.

    Power Pole Micro Anchor

I for one am looking forward to your response. I have a similar set up to you and would really like to know how it works for you. Good luck.

    Power Pole Micro Anchor

I do not, but interested in any responses. I'm really looking at this myself and expecting to hop on it first sale I see...which probably won't be for some time.

    Transducer question

Thanks. I do have to set it at dual frequency or dual beam. Dual frequency does have a spilt screen option, but on a 4" screen that's a feature that's hard to use.

    Transducer question

So I have acquired a Garmin 400c, new in the box that my in-laws bought a few years ago and never used. My question is about the transducer. It has dual frequency and a dual beam setting. I mostly fish very shallow, 12 feet is deep in the lakes I frequent. I'm thinking dual beam serves my...

typed by ben's 2001 Lowe 1648M all aluminum build (UD 6/27)

Looks good. I ended up having drop in storage for most of my bins, but for others just cut the decking material (ply wood) to form a hatch.Good luck with the rest of the build, such a versitle boat you can take them in almost any way.

    Power-Pole Introduce the Micro Anchor

They posted pricing on their site. While not cheap, I was expecting it to be more expensive actually.

    Smallmouth help part II

They seem to hate Chartruese in a way they must destroy it. I find for the real shallow cranks I throw like the manns minus one and bandit footloose, if I can get a hint of Chartruese on a natural color they basically let me know when they hit to say the least. I did throw some zoom lizards...

    Smallmouth help part II

I don't know much about your part of the river but I have always had luck in the Doah and further down river from you on the Potomac using zoom lizards, junebug color. Also, I really like very shallow crank baits...smallies seem to hate chartreuse for some reason so i try and get some of that...

    Bow Mount Trolling Motors

I'm also from NJ and know the electric only theme. Here's the thing...I have a 16 foot flat bottom and I put a 101 Fortrex on it. Not saying you need to do that but when it's your only source of propulsion go as big as you can. I would say 55 is the smallest you want to go with, but you will...

Need help with a tough decision.

I'd keep your boat, get a used 15 hp and a foot controlled troller. But that's just my opinion. I don't fish out of your boat, but it sort of looks like my own setup...which I love. As was said before, once you go foot control you will never go back. But do what you think is best for you.
