Of my six trailered boats through the years, never used a transom saver. I guess they have their place.

I use old billboard signs, can usually find them about 10x20' and they last 3 years for me. I pay 15-20 bucks each. The store bought ones last a year.

Yea, that might be the going rate these days and I commend you for getting a wider hull. It has been a long time since I have seen a wide 10' boat used but you might get lucky.

I put it in a dry box inside my dry box. The larger box is a cooler with latches, it accompanies the 3gal. gas tank in the back of the boat.

Not really asking, this motor is going on 10 years and just replaced the foot microswitch for $15 and changed the retrieval rope last year. I am only 2mi. from a natural ramp. Boat was not in saltwater for first 2 years. I just give it a rinse when I come home. Not really sure a saltwater...

I have dumped larger boats in the grass and worked on the trailer then back the trailer up to it disconnect the trailer from the truck and just crank the boat back on the trailer.

I have the same motor on a 14-42. It is raised on a manual jackplate about 3.5" . I am 200+ over rev so i ordered a 12 pitch prop based on your history. Before raising the motor the rpm's were similar. Should have it on in a week or so...
