The drag seems to work. I adjusted it and pulled out some of the old line at different settings. I haven't really messed with baitcasters. Being a big spool should I just use mono or load it up with some heavier PowerPro?

That's my biggest concern is bearings. It feels fairly smooth considering so I'm thinking/hoping that a lube job is all it needs for now.

I've got a Sahara 1000 on my Falcon 6' light. No complaints. I was looking at the Saros for my St Croix 6'UL, but the one I tried didn't seem all that smooth.

If you can prevent the side to side movement as well, that should do it.

That thing will be easier to remove than you realize. I have a similiar setup for a bike rack in my truck bed and can snatch it out by hand. Granted thats with a drop in bedliner, but even with a bit better grip, a few good tugs, a hammer, or a small amount of prying will probably get that bar out.

They don't make a 750 Sahara anymore. Just a 500 and 1000 in the smaller sizes. I've heard about line problems on the 500 due to the spool size. The Saros seems to be an answer to that, but is actually a hair (.2oz) heavier than the Sahara
