Is the shaft on my Minn Kota Edge 55 supposed to be bent a little when in the stowed position,to hold pressure maybe?

I bought a gallon of SEM self etching primer black from TCP Global online. A gal is 75 bucks and a quart is 22. I think it was a little cheaper when i got mine though.
