We are on our second Palisade (2024), and it handles 2,000 lbs without being noticeable (rated for 5,000 lbs). Ours is AWD (incredibly comfortable and safe). I would not hesitate to tow your boat with this or any comparable SUV.
I have a 2006 Tracker Guide V14. I have always towed the boat with the Mercury 9.9hp 2 cycle (1997) off if the boat. Now that I'm past 70, it is much more of a hassle.
Do most of you tow with a small motor on the transom (I do have a Transom Saver support)? Thanks
I think all the major brands make excellent trucks. I would go with a 3/4 ton since you will tow a travel trailer. The 3/4 ton towing is a major improvement in stability when towing. I have an older F150 with the 5.4L which is great but doesn't compare in towing with my 3/4 ton Suburban.
I would take: 1. Ruger Mini 14 (5.56) (may change this to an AR as I get more familiar with mine) for the ready availability to scavenge ammo;
2. Bolt-action .30-06 (ready access to ammo and a do-all cartridge); and
3. I would...
I enjoy hunting turkey, deer, elk, and coyotes. Grew up in Texas hunting quail with my dad, but here quail can be hard to find.
Have taken antelope and a nice tom mountain lion. I'm pretty deadly on skunks, too, when I trap them!
Many Thanks!
Finally the sun came out and it is a beautiful mid 50s day. Being in the desert, we never curse the rain or snow, but we miss the sun.
I'm looking forward to learning a lot here and having some fun.
Hi, Everyone
I live in New Mexico and recently acquired a used Tracker V14, trailer, and Mercury 9.9. I am very anxious for spring fishing and hope to try for some of our Tiger Muskies. Also planning some trips to the Durango, CO area to fish with some family.
I am looking forward to reading...
