I started piecing together the deck extension top skin, matching the thickness of the original front deck. I had some 5052 H32 .063” 26” x 36” pieces of sheet metal laying around that I am using. I folded a 1” flange on the end of one and stuck it in the compartment to see what I need to add to make the shelf.

It was kinda hot today but I managed to get some work done. I finished piecing together the .063” skin, on the top of my deck extension. I didn’t mess with the shelf today. I will fabricate a template to make another skin out of .080” sheet metal to give it the required strength (.063 riveted & bonded to .080 will be plenty strong).

That’s the plan, we’ll see how it goes.

I haven't been on very often lately, but that is looking great. You have very nice fabrication skills!

I hope your wife is continuing to improve, too.
