Anyone make thir own wood crankbaits?

Thanks rich! I think the big help in carving is my knock off dremel came with a snake arm so that you have way more flexibility and you are basically holding a pen in your hand instead of the whole dremel. Makes it a lot easier to work with. I cut out the basic shape of both the side and top...

Anyone make thir own wood crankbaits?

Thanks for the tips guys. I bought some epoxy sealer and I'm going to seal them up and test them out. I drilled the holes in the bottom to add a 1/8 oz. egg sinker so that the bait will sit right side up. If they suck, I'll just make more lol. I bought enough parts to make way more lures than I...

Anyone make thir own wood crankbaits?

I took some scrap would and cut out a couple of shad rap bodies on my scroll saw and went to work with the dremel and a bit of sandpaper. Here is the result: I ordered an airbrush off ebay and some lure parts from lurepartsonline.com, now I just have to play the waiting game for everything...

Anyone make thir own wood crankbaits?

I've been looking into it as a hobby as well. I have the woodworking tools so just a small compressor and a cheap airbrush is all I should need. I looked at some Badger airbrushed today, $180 for a cheap dual action  . That's not happening, looks like eBay it is! Found this guys blog...

Great way to end the season!

Thanks guys! @sixgun, I don't have anymore pictures of my ramp. It's basically just an old boat ramp that used to have a dolly on it and now I got a welder to put on some angle brackets and bolted on some treated 2x6's with a strip of hockey board material (teflon?) onto the top. Works like a...

Great way to end the season!

Ended up playing hookie yesterday from school to go out fishing. Was definitely worth it! Ended up landing my PB walleye, a huge 28" hog! We still have about 18" of ice on the lake where we were fishing, but it was melting fast. 22 C (72F) temps definitely dont help keeping the ice around...

    PB Perch

Ended up going out on Sunday to a new lake where I had heard they were catching some huge perch. Ended up being a super foggy day because the ice was melting so it jacked up the humidity over the lake and you couldn't even see 100 ft. Ended up landing 11 perch and my PB, a 14.5"

    First Aid Kit recommendations?

Adventure Medical makes some nice kits. https://www.adventuremedicalkits.com/ I use their Ultralight/Watertight .7 kit for backcountry camping and it has worked well. I just bought a foldable pair or scissors and an emergency blanket and added it to the kit. Building a kit will be a lot more...

I am heading to Cuba for reading week in February and I was wondering if anyone had some tips or experiences? Any tips on fishing there? I would like to bring a telescopic rod and maybe a few lures to fish a day or two. I've never fished in saltwater before so what should I bring for fishing...
