Need some advice / guidance on first build Alweld 1652j

I've been happy with the build quality so far, No real defects found at all. I haven't had it in the water yet, But I'm really looking forward to it.

Need some advice / guidance on first build Alweld 1652j

I stopped down at backwoodslanding to pick up a pre fabricated console for the boat and a controls mount. I did a mock set up of how i would have the console and control placing and to be honest, didn't like it at all. I guess I'm a tiller guy. I didn't like how it cluttered up the floor of the...

    1652 Alwweld basic jet

Either a 15" or 20" is the "standard" option. To make any modifications to a boat from scratch, you add 250 to the price, and then make your additions. I think it was 225 bucks for the raised transom. I can't remember Exactly what I priced out from them as far as the boat goes. But it ended up...

Could you get me some close ups of your floor? What thickness of material did you use? Did the silicone help keep the noise down?

Need some advice / guidance on first build Alweld 1652j

Hey everyone, I finally got my hull in, and I've been a jet boat lurker for what seems like forever now. I know it's been at least 4 years of looking to get this far. Now it's time to get the project started! Here are some pictures, I eventually want this boat to have a "bass boat" style. Decks...

    1652 Alwweld basic jet

I looked into these weldbilts for awhile. But by the time you get the transom raised and add the boxes and things you want it's no cheaper than an alweld. I ended up with alweld.

Finally going to do it!!! ( I think )

^^^^^^^ Oh, got the boat, not the motor, it had been used in salt water, and that was a big NO for me.

Finally going to do it!!! ( I think )

this is more than likely beating a dead horse... BUT Anyone have experience on the fuel economy of a fourstroke jet like yammy or merc, vs a two stroke like etec or tohatsu? Just wondering if the fourstroke fuel savings is substantial over the newer two strokes?

Finally going to do it!!! ( I think )

May be jumping on this rig tomorrow, any thing i may need to check on this outboard jet? because this will be my first one. The dealer can tell me the hours on the used outboard by hooking up to it can't they? ( something similar to an obd sensor? )

Finally going to do it!!! ( I think )

tracker makes a 1654? The only 16 footers I see on their website is 1648's. Fish finders neccesary on a jet boat? I figure the water i am on is almost always less than 4-5 feet.. so no matter what I can stand up, but i was thinking about asking for one on the bow where my trolling motor would be.

What other type of rigging would be good to ask for? What kind of things would you ask for?

Finally going to do it!!! ( I think )

I am pretty sure I found a rig I can live with, I like the general setup and the open floor style of the boat, it's from a dealer and I just wanted to see what ya'll think about the boat / motor / price combination. It's a 1652j alweld with a 22" transom ( New boat & trailer ) with a 2010 60/40...

    1997 Tracker 185 Pro Jet (MV1850) rebuild

so, if you had to do anything different with this build, would it have been UHMW on the hull? I am looking at a similar boat right now on craigslist.com https://nashville.craigslist.org/boa/3342926615.html

    need help choosing a rig

Taylor,I got to talking to another local jet runner and he has a twenty her on a bare bone boat. He was telling me he can run more places on the river that way than guys with larger rigs, simply because of the weight. How do you feel about that? Think there is some truth to that?

    need help choosing a rig

Ok I need help again, I'm going to go ahead and fix up the Merc XR2 150 and Jet it. Boat suggestions for this rig? I have a trailer that will haul a 17' boat, I'm wanting to stay under $4K, I have the Engine and trailer, I just need a boat. Where would you go from here? It needs to be a side...

    need help choosing a rig

I wonder if i'd have a problem getting just a boat. and not a boat and engine package. Because I'm pretty sure I want a two stroke, and... I'm partial to Everdude. (Evinrude)

    need help choosing a rig

Yeah, will it run shallow enough you think? It's not a true flat bottom right? Doesn't it have a shallow V? I'd think that a boat like that wouldn't be able to run is quite as shallow of water, and chickasaw is where i will mainly run the river most likely.

    need help choosing a rig

do yall think the 18 foot version would be too large for the duck river? If so would an etec 90 be good for the 1656? Don't wasn't to be under powered
