    Part Wanted Bow Eye

You might buy a stick of WaterWeld epoxy stick, mix some up and pack it around the bolt to replace the rotten wood. If you get it in there tight, it should work well with little effort needed.

Powering your home during power outages

WOW! I'm so sorry. I hope the insurance company is taking care of you.

    Aluminum or Wood

I used Azek paneling, rounded the edges and wrapped in real marine carpet, and it's very comfortable, and durable and cleans up easily. Had mine for years before selling, and it still looked great. New buyer still very happy with it. Cheap carpet is a pain and doesn't cost much less, so...

    Good alternative to plywood?

There are fiberglass panels that are supposed to work well. I remember someone doubled up 1/4" FG panels with construction adhesive between the layers, and they said they were nice and rigid once set. It was either here or on another forum, but if I recall, they got them free from their...

    Good alternative to plywood?

That doesn't look like a good idea. Any fasteners going through it would ream out the holes in the material and pull through over time, besides what's mentioned above.

At what point do you abandon ship?

If you want a quick fix, you could open the holes to 3/16 and hit them all with solid rivets. I did that on a boat I didn't want to put a lot of time into. They take 10 seconds to install, especially if you can get someone to hold the anvil while you tap them in. Paint them to match, and...

    Added rubrail to a tinny

Sometimes that lip that you have on the top goes on the bottom The intended purpose is to seal and keep water from getting up behind the rub rail, but it really depends on your application and boat. What you did looks great! Awesome find!

Bonding aluminum floor to inside hull?

And what if that long piece of piano wire got a spot of corrosion, caught a sharp corner or broke for any reason as you try to pull the long stringer joints? You would really be stuck then.

Bonding aluminum floor to inside hull?

I think it would work, but what a nightmare if you or the next owner needed to get under there for any reason. Doesn't it stick right back together if you don't separate it as you pull? So, if you have 4 stringers, and you pull #1 cut wire first, as you pull #2, #3 and #4, the others would...

    1997 Evinrude 115 misfiring

For what it's worth, those nylon carbs are the easiest to service of any carbs I know of. Really fast! As long as you don't screw the bowls on too tight and warp them, the are the best carbs EVER. Remember that your idle mix is on the throttle body and not on the carbs themselves. You can...

    Must be nuts

Those are some good-looking boats! I've discovered that my 16' boat goes in the same places as my 14' did and more comfortably, so I ended up with one boat that I really like, and the others help pay for fuel, trolling motor and a nice Garmin. Enjoy the process and deciding what you want to keep!

    1997 Evinrude 115 misfiring

Did you ever drain the bowls of the carbs? A little water sitting in the bottom of a bowl can cause some big headaches. I would look at the carbs and fuel system carefully, as fuel starvation in one carb can destroy the engine. Spark issues generally won't hurt the engine, it just won't run...

    Motorguide the latest to fail

I hate to say it, but I understand why they weren't succeeding. I've had maybe 5 Motorguides, over the years, and pretty much all of them had issues. The pedal steers had pedal issues, the remote units had steering issues, and the one tiller handle unit locked up unexpectedly. I'm at the...

    Can't Get Out!

In 2019 I bought a F150 STX with the 3.5L EcoBoost. It's faster than my Mustang used to be, and could be even faster if I get a tuning chip, but I don't need it. It's a VERY comfortable vehicle to drive. My 2005 truck feels like go-cart by comparison. That hurricane sounds pretty good...

    Trailer width question

Since you ordered the boat, I was going to say you might be able to upgrade from the dealer, but I see that you found that option already. Hopefully, you will get a better trailer for not much extra

    What a day... (Long Rant)

Do you have teeth for your bucket? If you like to dig, you will REALLY like how much better it digs with teeth. I got a removeable set for mine, and I don't use it when grooming our gravel, but it's AWESOME when moving mulch, dirt, or actually digging. I got one similar to this one...

    1969 StarCraft OFFSHORE V

If your batteries are in the back, move them up to under the console to balance the boat better. That way, you may not need ballast.

    1969 StarCraft OFFSHORE V

I love the look of your finished rig. I take it that T-top is aluminum, not stainless? Looks like a really nice setup! Maybe a trolling motor, depending on what you do with it?

    What a day... (Long Rant)

I see what you mean. Snow that turns to concrete is tough!!! I also have a tractor for that. A friend told me before I bought a tractor, that I wouldn't realize how much I needed a tractor until I got one, and then I would probably never get rid of it unless I upgrade to a better one...

    What a day... (Long Rant)

They really are good-riding machines. I've had (2) 360's and they run trails like a billy-goat! Very capable, just not much top speed. All you need back in the woods, though. I just picked up a 2003 Prairie 650 as a semi-project. It starts and runs, but needs a lot of maintenance. Carb...
